Catpain Polo's Dog Training and Pet Services began after adopting a Catahoula Leopard dog from BadAss Rescue in Brooklyn. At age five, she found her way from an abusive home in Louisiana to a prime residence on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. She was highly reactive to dogs and city life in general, and so I enrolled a professional dog trainer to train me to train my dog. After months of work together, building trust and putting into practice all the components, I was able to eradicate 99% of her reactivity, making walks stress-free and fun for both of us. It was then that I started to notice all the other dogs with similar issues, and I had the tools and knowledge to help. So, I broadened my knowledge, took pet first aid classes, trained more, and became a certified dog trainer with Good Pup. I enrolled in more classes with my dog, training her in new advanced skills, and she successfully graduated as a certified therapy dog, volunteering her time to help heal those in nursing homes and hospitals. She is Captain Polo.
